ATUALIZAÇÕES DA URUS

Refletindo sobre o impacto da Campanha de Doações URUS 2024

In early January, we completed the 2024 URUS Giving Campaign. We are grateful to all the employees who helped us choose which organization to support and are proud of the collective impact made by our global URUS family.

Guided by our Corporate Social Responsibility pillars and supporting our vision—Vacas melhores para um mundo melhor—this initiative empowered employees to direct $25,000 in donations to organizations working tirelessly to end hunger, protect our planet, e end poverty. Through their votes, employees determined the distribution of funds, which reflect the values we hold as a company:

Heifer International: Receiving 55% of the votes, Heifer International was awarded $13,750. Their work to end hunger and poverty through sustainable agriculture and livestock development continues to inspire us and aligns with our mission to empower producers worldwide.

Your donation will directly empower families around the world by providing them with the resources, training, and tools they need to build sustainable livelihoods. Whether it’s through livestock, farming techniques, or clean energy solutions, your support helps create lasting impact, giving communities the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and thrive for generations to come.

One Acre Fund: Securing 25% of the votes, One Acre Fund received $6,250. Their efforts to provide smallholder farmers with the tools and support to succeed resonate deeply with our dedication to sustainable farming practices.

On behalf of the One Acre Fund family, we are deeply grateful to URUS Group for your donation. One Acre Fund proudly supplies financing, farm inputs, and training to 5 million hero smallholder farmers in Africa. Our support aims to increase harvests, enrich soils, and improve child nutrition. As we start the new year, we’re seeing unprecedented demand for food security from rural communities severely impacted by economic and climate challenges, including ongoing inflationary pressures. Because of URUS Group’s gift, we will support hundreds of additional hard-working farmers in Africa to alleviate hunger in their families and communities during these challenging times.”

CARE: Garnering 20% of the votes, CARE was awarded $5,000. Their programs to combat global poverty and promote gender equality play a vital role in building resilient communities and brighter futures.

Your company’s generosity enables CARE to make a meaningful impact around the world—saving lives, reducing poverty, and advancing social justice. To share just a glimpse of the work you help make possible: your support helps empower millions of smallholder farmers to increase their productivity and yields, provides life-saving assistance to refugees and communities in crisis—both in the immediate aftermath and throughout their recovery—and strengthens maternal and child health programs in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions. This campaign reflects the power of collaboration within the URUS family. Together, we united across borders, shared values, and took meaningful action to make a difference. Your participation exemplifies the heart of our company and our belief that collective efforts can empower lasting positive change.

Thank you for supporting the 2024 URUS Giving Campaign. By joining forces, we have contributed to critical initiatives that address hunger, environmental sustainability, and poverty alleviation—furthering our commitment to our CSR pillars and demonstrating the strength of our vision to create a better world.

Here’s to a brighter future, made possible by the dedication and compassion of the URUS family.

Farmer, Rehema Kihalalwa from Ugwashanya village

Farmer, Rehema Kihalalwa from Ugwashanya village, Tanzania has been with One Acre Fund since 2017; originally enrolling for maize and since expanding to sunflowers. “I decided to plant sunflowers after learning that it is drought resistant and produces high yields. I made this decision after being encouraged by a One Acre Fund Field Officer and can use sunflowers as a safety net if things do not work out well with maize.”
