“People—Best in Bovine” is becoming more than a mantra within the URUS family; é a guiding principle in our journey from Good to Great. We are grateful for the talented individuals on our team who make impactful contributions worldwide. But there’s another way to appreciate the power of our people: by considering the company we keep.
There’s a common saying: “A person is defined by the company they keep.” This is a powerful reminder that who we associate with reflects our qualities, character, and, ultimately, our brand. As URUS, we can take pride in the partnerships we’ve cultivated—with producers, partners, and owners. These relationships are a testament to how exceptional we are as a team and as a company.
Our partners play a vital role in helping us achieve our vision of Vacas melhores para um mundo melhor. These partnerships span the globe, from PEAK Genetics to Brazilian bull owners to leading data and cow monitoring companies. One partnership example is Dr. Kee Jim, who was recently inducted into the Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame, and his partners at GKJ Farms are innovators in North American feedlot production. When they launched Blackshirt Feeders, a 150,000-head feedlot, they chose URUS as their partner to implement the FeedWise/ONYX program. We recently reached the first anniversary of this groundbreaking, closed-loop beef x dairy value chain connecting Leachman genetics with Alta and GENEX dairy customers and GKJ Farms to purchase the resulting cattle. Together, we deliver better beef, greater sustainability, and stronger profitability for all involved.
Our connections with producers are equally inspiring. At a recent dairy meeting in Texas, I was reminded of the exceptional producers we work with. Though there were only a few dozen attendees, this elite group represented nearly 30% of U.S. dairy production. Looking around the room, I saw that almost every producer partnered with one or more brands that make up our URUS Family. That this group of industry leaders chooses to work with URUS speaks volumes about the quality of our people!
This past year, we also welcomed CVC as a new investor, joining an already impressive group of owners in the Pon Family and a leading cooperative in CRI. CVC, one of the world’s largest investment firms, has a proven track record of partnering with elite teams—from championship rugby and soccer/football leagues to Formula 1 racing. Their decision to invest in URUS is a testament to the talent and potential they see in our people.
So, do URUS people measure up to the “company they keep” test? Absolutely. Innovators in beef x dairy cattle feeding, thriving dairy producers, and leading global investors all choose to associate with us. Why? Because URUS people are the kind of company anyone would be proud to keep!
