At AgSource, it’s no secret that our foundation is built on a member-driven approach. As the voice of our membership, delegates help pave the way for the cooperative, ensuring that every decision meets the needs and vision of our more than 1,500 members. On Wednesday, February 26, the 2025 Annual Meeting brought together delegates, AgSource and URUS staff for a day of collaboration, hands-on learning and growth – all centered around this year’s theme: Progress Through Unity.
The morning kicked off with important business updates and exciting project developments from AgSource staff, along with a special thank you to Annette Trescher for her 15+ years of dedicated service to the AgSource Council, including her most recent role as Vice President.
The afternoon featured a thought-provoking keynote session by Peggy Coffeen of the Uplevel Dairy Podcast, where she explored the power of finding your ‘why.’ Drawing on the principles of Simon Sinek’s famous TED Talk and book Start with Why, Peggy discussed how great leaders inspire change, motivate others, and summon the strength to move forward. She explained how farmers can apply these concepts to strengthen their mission, both within their own dairies and across the broader dairy community.
Delegates also had the opportunity to participate in two breakout sessions with information they could take home and put into action on their farms right away. Chris Bandura from UW-Madison led a discussion on the role of cover crops in enhancing soil health, while Travis Glaser of ARM Financial Services shared his insights on navigating the ever-changing milk markets.
The program concluded with a networking event, leaving attendees energized, united, and with a fresh perspective on the cooperative’s promising future!
